CHARLIE (SRC#1957) OWNER PLACEMENT in NC's story
My name is  CHARLIE (SRC#1957) and I am 3 years old.  I weigh approximately 28  pounds.  I am a  Parti-Mini Schnauzer with Natural Ears and a Docked Tail.  My color is liver and white so I am very unique and most handsome!  I am micro-chipped, have all my vaccinations, am heart-worm negative, been neutered and  am being placed in a new home by my loving owner along with SRC  in another adoptive home because my current Mom works long hours.  She knows that I need a lot more attention than she can give me and because she loves me so very much, she has reached out to SRC for help in finding the perfect home for me.  Currently I am located in Apex, NC.  SRC will be accepting applications for my adoption and will pre-qualify them yet the final decision as to which approved applicant will be allowed to adopt me will be decided by my current owner because she knows best the type of environment that will make me happy and help me flourish the most!
 (SRC#1957 )CHARLIE's  Story
The owner of CHARLIE  (SRC#1957) contacted SRC  recently to request our assistance in finding a great new home for her beloved Schnauzer.   She has had him since he was  little puppy and wants him to be happy and loved always!  She loves Charlie with all her heart and has kept him very well cared for.  Charlie is up to date on all.  He does have seasonal allergies which is normal for Parti-Schnauzers so he takes apoquel for  those allergies.  It is not very expensive yet it is necessary that he be kept on this allergy medical for him to flourish and not to have allergy issues such as licking his paws constantly and thinning of his fur.  He also maintains a healthy diet for a sensitive stomach which may be obtained  by prescription. Charlie does not do well with small children so any family that adopts him must have older children only per SRC policy.  Charlies' current mom wants him to have a wonderful loving home he deserves where he will get lots of attention and thrive in the new environment.
Charlie is a very sweet boy yet he can be frightened around strangers, still once he gets to know them he bonds readily. This 28 pound cuddle-bug knows commands such as: "sit, drop it,  plus he also knows to ring a bell when he wants to go outside to potty.  Charlie is a very intelligent boy and he loves to please his human! His loving owner wants Charlie's new adoptive home to be one where he will be beloved as he is there.  This pitiful boy has spent far too many hours waiting for his mom to come home, so this time he should have someone who can spend lots of time with him.  He should be in a loving home where he can sit beside his loving human on the furniture to cuddle and he will not have to be crated for hours on end.  Charlie's preference is to be able to sleep in the bed with his humans so his new adoptive parent(s) should be open to allowing this for him.  The love and loyalty this precious Schnauzer gives in return will be amazing!
Here are the requirements to adopt Charlie:
    1. Continue Special Diet for Sensitive Stomach plus Apoquel for allergies
    2.  Work from home or have a schedule allowing you to devote lots of time to Charlie
     3.  Be flexible enough that Charlie is allowed on furniture & may sleep with you
Now ready for adoption this dog is on heart-worm  preventative, vaccinations brought up to date, neutered, micro-chipped, examined fully by his vet and any necessary medical issues found by this vet   have  been addressed.  Placement of Charlie is at the discretion of his current owner once she has reviewed the approval packages sent to her and made her decision as to the best family suited for Charlie's future health and happiness.

THIS DOG IS AN OWNER PLACEMENT IN APEX, NC AND YOU SHOULD BE WILLING TO DRIVE TO THAT LOCATION IN ORDER TO PICK CHARLIE UP THERE WHEN HE  IS ADOPTED.
Tax-deductible donation requested at time of adoption for this dog is $275
PLEASE READ PRIOR TO APPLYING
This Schnauzer is an OWNER PLACEMENT and will not be placed in one of our Foster homes.  SRC does verify the medical records and we get an owner release to assure that each of these Schnauzers may be placed for adoption.  All our SRC volunteers strive to do this for the well-being of their rescued canine and to assure a successful adoption. It is our worthy mission to assure that each canine rescued by SRC is placed in a loving, stable and permanent home whose family members will treat it as a beloved member of their immediate family. We are prepared to assure that all of  our rescued dogs are in great homes or we will reclaim them if necessary.
SRCs rescued dogs are  adopted  in these states NC, SC,  Eastern TN, and VA until they are adopted. These same states are SRC's approved adoption areas so please do not apply unless you live in one of these states. You must be willing to drive to the dog's foster home in order to adopt the canine. The location of each dog is listed at the bottom of its bio.
BEFORE meeting an SRC dog, you must be approved to adopt by our Placement Team. Our downloadable Adoption Application is on our web site at   /_files/SRC_APP_082013.doc     and may be submitted via email or fax (1-). You may request an Adoption Application to email address:  adoptions@schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org
Upon receipt of your application, a vet reference check will be done and if the vet check is satisfactory then a home visit will be done. The entire process may take up to seven days, depending on your location and the number of applications being processed at that time.
Please plan on welcoming your new dog into your home within two weeks after approval. We cannot hold dogs because this limits our intake of others in need; SRC adopts them out on a first-come, first-serve basis based on a completed approved adoption process. If you are unable to accept your adopted dog within this time frame then SRC will go to the next approval and place with someone able to give the rescue a home within the proper time frame.
SRC does not ordinarily adopt its dogs to families with children under ten years of age. Exceptions are sometimes made on a case by case basis but only when the dog has been raised with children and the children are very respectful of animals.  This is for the protection of the dogs and for the protection of the children.
Procedures will be explained to you at the time of approval regarding donation and contract. Your donation is made in honor of the adoption of your new family companion and is never a purchase of an animal.  This tax deductible donation goes forward to help incoming rescued dogs. Our average total expense per dog includes but is not limited to the list of  expenses shown below.
Here is a break-down of the average expenses spent on SRC dogs to assure they remain healthy and happy as they are prepared for adoption:

SRC  wants to thank you for your interest in our rescued dogs. We put our heart and souls into saving their lives.  Often the medical expense, time and effort expended to help these dogs, far outweighs the minimal donation requested to adopt these innocent ones.  Please understand SRC is limited in the number of dogs in our safe haven and if you are not selected to adopt one of them, it is not a reflection on your ability to provide a good home for a canine, simply our lack of ability to provide for the overwhelming demand from applicants.  SRC urges you to pursue rescue -- it is definitely a worthy mission even if you do not adopt from SRC.
